Modric Out With Groin Tear

20 November 2008 No Comment

It has been confirmed by the club, after an MRI scan, that Luka Modric will miss a least the next couple of weeks with a groin injury sustained in our recent loss against London rivals Fulham.

This is a real blow for us at the moment as he has been one of the key revitalised souls under Harry Redknapp. His performances of late have been what we expected to see from him upon his arrival in the Summer. Personally I think we should be OK as we do have the luxury of strength in  depth, however it could really have come at a better time!

It will see him miss the fixtures against Blackburn, NEC Nijmegen and possibly Everton. His return will therefore possibly be against Watford in the Carling Cup, just in time for the following fixture against West Ham. Happy days!
